About Us

MariTeak was founded in 2021 after the acquisition of Global Shipwrights.

Global Shipwrights was the project of Captain Rich Goodale for over 15 years and during this time he honed the craft, finding many of the best practices and products for the creation of these wood masterpieces. As Rich approached the time to retire, he knew Global Shipwrights needed young blood… This is where the MariTeak journey begins, When a family of watermen with extensive knowledge of strategic manufacturing, a passion for woodworking, and vision for growth acquired the Global Shipwrights. MariTeak was born. 

Skip Payne (CEO) has spent his life in the eyeglass manufacturing industry. With over 40 years of experience working to grow a company his father started in an old service station to one of the largest producers of eyeglass lenses in the country. Skip has become a titan in the eyeglass manufacturing industry,

Troy Payne (Owner, President) and Jacob Payne (Owner, Vice President) are brothers and two of Skips four sons. The Payne Brothers grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida to parents who instilled in them at a young age a passion for the water. Skip, a licensed captain and centered every weekend and family vacation around the water.

Troy, also a licensed captain, spent most of his professional career in eyeglass manufacturing. Combining his passion for people and creative thinking, Troy was constantly working to best serve the company's customer base he would often refer to as “The Icare Family.” Doing so through managing customer relationships and creating manufacturing efficiencies to create a better, more affordable product in unmatched turnaround times. Troy brings this to the MariTeak Family in a bigger way than ever. 

Jacob, the youngest of the four sons grew up with a passion for woodworking and any project he could get his hands on. Jacob is the mechanic and wiring expert in the family

When they discovered Global Shipwrights, they knew they had found the perfect business. It provided the perfect foundation for their team to take what Captain Rich had built and apply their extensive knowledge of manufacturing and use of modern technology to take it to the next level. Thus MariTeak was born. 

This team is confident that MariTeak will build upon the foundation Rich set and grow MariTeak to be the best teak table and rocket launcher manufacturer in the business. 

At the end of the day, we are boaters just like you. We spend our weekends on the water and enjoy the fruits of our craft on our own boats. We are privileged to use our talents to upgrade the appearance of other’s boats all over the world.
